HOOP HOUSE

This project for Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens tasked our group of six to fabricate a hoop house for a 3.5’ x 6’ planter bed to help protect the plants from winter conditions. Constructed out of conduit and heat shrink plastic, this modular form allows four points of access through each of it’s modules, with curved panels that swing and can rest at the roof of the structure while the gardener tends to the plants. This project contained all points of the design process from the initial concept, to the construction drawing set, to the fabrication, and lastly the installation.
